When Steve Hill’s not working as a full-time school teacher in England, you’ll find him conquering a new mountain or marathon. Steve’s already ticked off climbing Mount Kilimanjaro, trekking through the Jungles of Borneo and completed the Arctic Ice Ultra Marathon just to name a few.

“Each year I set myself extreme personal challenges that will take me well out of my comfort zone”, says Steve.

“I push myself to my limits and beyond and hope that my challenges and adventures will also show others that through self-belief, hard work and determination and never giving up when things get tough - anything is possible!”
Some of Steve’s biggest adventures include:

2009 - Climbing Mount Kilimanjaro
2010 - Climbing Mont Blanc
2011 - Trekking 300 miles through the Sahara Desert
2012 - Climbing Mount Elbrus
2013 - Arctic Expedition with Huskies
2013 - Trekking through the Jungles of Borneo and climbing Mount Kinabalu
2014 - Completing the Mount Everest Marathon
2015 - Completing the North Pole Marathon
2016 - Completing the Petra Desert Marathon
2017 - Completing the Amazon Jungle Ultra Marathon - 230km self-supported
2018 - Completing the Arctic Ice Ultra Marathon - 230km self-supported
2018 - Completing the London Marathon
2018 - Completing the Uganda Marathon
2019 - Climbing Mount Toubkal
2019 - Completing the Uganda Marathon

“Each adventure has some very special memories - from the initial idea, to training and preparation, starting the adventure, the journey itself, the tough moments and low points and ultimately completing what I set out to achieve - when some people doubted me!

“A highlight is always having the opportunity to share my adventures and experiences with the children I teach and beyond - in the wider community - sharing my message of Dream Big, Aim High and Never Give Up.”

In addition to being an ongoing inspiration to the children he teaches and the wider community, Steve has managed to raise over £100,000 for a variety of charities. In 2015, Steve was awarded a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) from the Queen. The following year, Steve was named Adventurer of the Year.

Unsurprisingly, Steve’s journey starts long before he’s stepped foot on new terrain.

“Having a healthy lifestyle has a massive impact on me achieving my goals. I eat a well-balanced diet, take Juice Plus+ each day and train hard every day.

“It’s this meticulous preparation and a strong mindset that help enable me to complete these extreme challenges,” he added.

And when it comes to inspiring others to do the same, Steve has one clear message:

“Anything is possible, but you have to first of all believe in yourself and work hard for it!”

“I tell others that everyone is entitled to big dreams - dreams that excite and even frighten them because they are so big - and that no-one has the right to tell us that our dreams are too big!! But you have to believe in yourself, work hard and never give up when things get tough!

“Through having big dreams and following them our mental and physical health will improve!”
